Bray Wyatt brought back Firefly Funhouse during SmackDown this week. Fans were excited to see the group back, but what does it mean?
Friday’s episode of SmackDown was mostly about the tag team division and trying to crown the number 1 contenders through a tournament that was taking place. That being said, there was one memorable moment during the show that had nothing to do with tag teams. That was the return of The Firefly Funhouse when Bray Wyatt brought his own group of his friends to the show. This was the first time a Funhouse segment had aired since Wyatt’s return and it seemed like the man calling himself ‘The Eater of Worlds’ last week was teasing The Fiend’s return next week.
Wyatt will face LA Knight in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match at the Royal Rumble. Leading up to this fight, he’s been bringing up old tricks, or at least referring to them, and this week, he went all out with an episode of The Firefly Funhouse. The segment came after Knight defeated an enhancement talent in a quick match. As the segment played on the screens, Knight was in the ring in confusion. Fans flooded social media in shock, many happy to see that one of their favorite versions of Wyatt had returned.
Wyatt didn’t reveal if this would be a permanent or one-time return, but he teased the idea of The Fiend possibly returning when he warned Knight that he was the one who opened the door to the dark side and that he was the one he would have to live with. the consequences.
How is all this related?
Last week, Wyatt appeared in a rocking chair. It was a callback to the old Wyatt Family character of his. This week, he was Funhouse and the puppet of him. What’s going to happen next week on SmackDown and then The Royal Rumble?
The way WWE tries to tie all of this together is going to be fascinating. Uncle Howdy appears to be involved as he appeared on the funhouse television screen as he finished the segment and said, “I told you so.” There has been a reference in the past to Wyatt 6. Is this a reference to all of his personalities? Twitter user @JustAlyxCentral suggested it could be: 1) “True” Bray Wyatt 2) Eater of Worlds 3) Firefly FunHouse 4) The Fiend 5) Uncle Howdy and a sixth version that we haven’t released yet.
