Shawn Mendes shares his feelings after canceling his world tour

Shawn Mendes canceled his tour due to mental health reasons. However, in a recent interview with ET, the singer opened up about his mental health after the sudden cancellation of his Wonder World tour this summer. The singer revealed to the media that he now feels more relaxed ahead of the premiere of his new movie, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile.

Enthusiastic about the film, Mendes shared, “It doesn’t feel like such high pressure.” The film will be the first time fans hear his singing voice after announcing the cancellation of tour dates. “I think I needed some time just to ground myself and spend time with my family and friends and get a perspective of how beautiful it is what I can do for a living,” he added.

For the inexperienced, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile is a film adaptation based on the children’s book series of the same name, telling the story of a boy who discovers a singing crocodile in the attic of his family’s new home. Mendes voices the musical reptile, and the film also includes several of Mendes’ original songs.

“When it comes to art and showing yourself, I think vulnerability is what gives other people the power to feel like they can be vulnerable too,” Mendes said of what the film had taught him. “I really felt connected to Lyle’s sensitivity and sensitivity in the film. I feel a lot of that in myself.”
