Alleged Audio of Jermell Charlo Confessing To Assaulting A Woman Surfaces

The Source Of The Audio Is Unclear

On Wednesday, an audio recording surfaced featuring Charlo discussing an incident where he admits to striking a woman, causing significant harm, possibly breaking her orbital bone, per Marca. The woman in question subsequently contacted the police. It remains uncertain whether this incident is the same as the most recent arrest.

In the recording, Charlo disparages the woman, describing her as acting tough but ultimately not being resilient. He recounts hitting her forcefully in the eye, resulting in significant swelling and discoloration. Despite this, she reported the incident to the police, prompting Charlo to criticize her actions, likening them to those of a “regular woman.”

This isn’t the first instance of Charlo facing legal issues related to violence against women. In 2018, he faced felony domestic violence charges for allegedly choking his then-girlfriend. Although he was ultimately acquitted, it seems that the current situation may pose greater challenges for him.
