In the upcoming sequel, the leaders of the kingdom of Wakanda fight to protect their nation from invading forces following the death of King T’Challa. Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Florence Kasumba, and Gurira reprise their roles from the first film. The cast of the sequel to Blank Panther will also include Tenoch Huerta, Michaela Coel, and Mabel Cadena. Production on the upcoming sequel began in Atlanta in June 2021. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will open in theaters on November 11, 2022.
