Emmett Put Him Down With One Punch

Emmett, who stepped into the fight against Mitchell at short notice after his scheduled opponent, Giga Chikadze, pulled out. He had previously faced a one-sided unanimous decision loss to title challenger Ilia Topuria during UFC Fight Night Jacksonville earlier in the summer.

As Emmett celebrated his victory on one knee, both he and the spectators in attendance observed Mitchell convulsing and shaking his legs and body upon regaining consciousness on the Octagon mat. This unsettling incident stands out as one of the most gruesome stoppages in UFC history.

Josh Emmet Post-Fight Interview

In his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Emmet gave respect to his opponent before stating his claim in the division. “I am the most powerful featherweight in the world. It only takes one shot,” Emmett said after the fight.

“I want to thank Bryce for taking the fight. He took it on two weeks’ notice. He’s a dangerous guy, I wish him nothing but the best,” Emmett said.

Rogan compared the one-punch KO to a headkick to which the UFC contender responded: “I’m back baby. I’m f***ing back, you guys.”

Emmet handed Mitchell his first knockout loss. He suffered his first defeat to Ilia Topuria at UFC 282 via submission. Mitchell appeared in the reality television series The Ultimate Fighter: Undefeated and he is a ranked featherweight.
